This is one of the many reasons I am skeptical about the “god” movement. People who believe in God often believe in a god who is a person and not a place or entity. God is not a person, and we don’t have a god here. We have god here, and we have god all around us.
So what does that say about our religious beliefs? It says that we have nothing to back up our belief in a god that is not a person, and that we don’t have anything to back up our belief in a god that is not a place or entity. We are just being led astray by our own religious beliefs.
I think we all need to take a break from religion. We need to go back to the beginning of the world and look for the first god. We need to ask a question about god. If we don’t, then we are asking the wrong question and we might be asking a god that is not a person. That said, I think you can find god in the everyday situations we all face.
You probably remember the story of Jonah, a man who was washed up on the shore of the world’s most famous island. Jonah was a fisherman. He had a problem. He was in a boat that was going to catch and save a fish from the great beast, a huge fish that was going to kill him. Jonah was determined to save the fish. He prayed to God asking for a sign, a sign that the fish would be saved. God gave him a sign.
That’s because Jonah’s boat was caught in an open sea. It was too late to save the fish, so Jonah was cast into the deepest part of the ocean, a place where the currents were too strong for the boat to survive. Once in the ocean, Jonah tried to survive the endless waves and currents by turning into a whale. The whale then took Jonah down to a place where life was plentiful.
This makes me wonder, if God doesn’t give us a sign, then how is it that we’re still alive? God’s not just sending us a message to us but he’s sent us a message to himself. There are so many things we can do that we don’t even know can save us. Maybe he’s just sending us a message about how much he cares.
Many people who go through this story know that it’s supposed to make them sick, so they’ll go on to the next level. So the idea of a new level of self-awareness has never happened before.
It’s not that we have this knowledge, as much as it is that we have it and we don’t give it to ourselves.
If you think of Jesus as the ultimate self-awareness, then you are basically right. Jesus is the one who knew exactly how he wanted to do everything. He wasn’t just some guy who talked to himself. He wanted to do it one thing at a time. That is what makes Jesus so great. But at the same time, Jesus is also the one that taught us (and the rest of us) to stop doing things and just do it.
